Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

How do I know if my child needs tutoring?

Practically every student can benefit from one-on-one private tutoring, but especially if your child is frustrated and struggling with a particular subject, or is spending too much time doing their homework or is putting in a lot of effort just to keep up with schoolwork or homework.  If your child just wants to get ahead and excel, our tutors can work with you to achieve these goals as well.

How Often does my child need tutoring?

Initially, we recommend a minimum of two hours of tutoring per week.  The optimum is three times per week.  Anything less than two hours per week is generally ineffective.  The more hours you can devote to tutoring per week the faster your child will catch up and the more rapid you will see results.

How do you screen your tutors and how can I be assured they are quality tutors?

Our tutors must have passed a national background check through the school system police department and have supplied a Resume’, letters of reference, and/or letters of recommendations. Each tutor has been personally interviewed.

Our tutors specialize in subject and grade levels where their talent and strengths are.

Our tutors are either certified, qualified, experienced, compassionate, dependable and enthusiastic.

We guarantee tutor compatibility for the family.  Our qualified tutors are individually matched to meet your student’s personality and particular circumstances and needs.

Our tutors use innovative approaches to the subjects providing programs with measurable results.  We thoroughly and successfully plan and implement educational solutions for the needs of the individual and family.

How do your services compare to center-based services?

We offer one-on-one instruction.  Your child gets 100% of the attention 100% of the time.  It is convenient because we come to you in your home or another location of your choosing.  We are flexible and schedule around your busy work and family schedule.

We use your child’s school curriculum and supplemental curriculum as not to overwhelm your child by adding more work and stress.  We follow an individualized plan designed for you child, not a “one size fits all” prescription.
